The adrenaline is still pumping….the voice is still hoarse…. But none of this is even relevant anymore because…… “PEOPLE!!! I just witnessed TOKIO’s LIVE in CONCERT today in Nagoya!!!

It was everything I hoped it would be….and man did I run up front (and nearly trip -_-!) to see Mabo up close right at the end of the encore…..reckless I may be, but hey, a fan girl gotta do what a fan girl’s gotta do (^_~). On a fan girl’s honor, I have to confess that despite that many years of ogling and looking at Mabo on TV, when the awesome dude ran across in front of me….about 30 meters away give or take….. I think I was still dumb-stuck alittle, and my previously very rhythmic gyrating of ‘Love You Only’ went totally awry …. Mabo is really too adorable for words…. That grin and that hollering of ‘LOVE YOU ONLY’ will definitely be something that  I will never ever forget. …

Thank you, TOKIO…for another wonderful memory.

Thank you, Mabo…for running over to ‘our’ side and letting me have a chance to catch a glimpse of your really adorable face. Tomoya had been saying you were ‘kawaii’ for a long time….. I had been saying the same thing too for a long time in my LJ…. But today, I witnessed it for myself….with my own eyes....that boyish grin and happy face of yours today (^_^)….I will always always remember it. And for that.....THANK YOU!!! (^_^)


By the way, I've decided to name my 'Over 30s Dog' -Maboyaki (^o^).... as in Mabo looking like a Takoyaki (compliments of Tomoya and Taichi ^_~) ...hahaha....Oh, I love Maboyaki already! (^_^)

TOKIO....HERE I COME!!!

Holy Macaroni!  After all these years..... I'm gonna go see MABO.... for REAL! Man, this is so surreal.....

It’s TOKIO’s 15th year as …..TOKIO…..
Although it doesn’t seem to be a very long time, seeing that we do have bands that had been together for more than one-third of a century, but from the perspective of our five....and us, fans, it is definitely another important milestone.

15 years (longer if you count pre-debut times) of blood, sweat, and tears…… and also of fun and laughter…and the comradery….. 15 years is indeed a feat in itself.

Birthday calls for birthday wish…..it’s TOKIO’s 15th birthday afterall….

If a humble fan may take the liberty to bank on this occasion and make a wish for them all, this fangirl would wish for nothing out of this world ….really….

Despite my wanting to wish for Leader to be a little more aggressive and not get bullied so easily….despite my wanting to wish for Gusan to be a little more talkative so that we can listen to his wise sayings more frequently….despite my wanting to wish for Taichi to be nicer to Leader and maybe even train Joshima-san towards my wishing on Joshima’s part as above…..despite my wanting to wish for Mabo to not get so shy and embarrassed so easily when people tease him…..and despite my wanting to wish for Tomoya to have a lower occurance of an amnesia period and remember more stuff….. I realize all the above are not the least important at all……because these are what made our boys TOKIO…..and what made us love them.

But if I may, and I would, make a wish on this occasion..... despite of all my 'despites' above….then I would only wish for one thing….and it’s the one thing that I would always silently wish upon my loved one as they wish upon their birthday wish….” Please bless the birthday boy/girl with health and happiness….forever……”

It is only with health can we find happiness....and it is only with both H's can all other things be made possible...

Remember the good ole days where TOKIO fans were still being indulged with dance moves and such from the five of them? Well, those were the days…… (^_~)

Once in a while, they do humor us with some imitation dance during their TV shows when they have to play host to the invited guest who happen to have a passion for dancing (^_^), and most of the time, “chaotic” is the only word of description I deem appropriate to express my humble thoughts. (^_^) But I got to give it up to them for at least giving it a shot ….. (^_~)

I guess it is of human nature to crave for things that you don’t often see, and since TOKIO fans are so used to being ‘boogie-deprived’ all these years (^_~), any sort of gyrating on their part, whether messy and/or chaotic, will always be well-appreciated by fans! (^_^)

TOKIO attempted to do a dance from the group-EXILE in a 2003 Mentore G episode after the invited guest told them that she was a huge fan of this dance group. If one could look past the chaotic-ness of the whole dance (^_^), one would definitely find the beauty of this whole clip….and by that, I mean seeing each member’s personality being perfectly highlighted while observing how they learn new things. (^_^)

Leader’s nervous-ness (Constant giggling ^o^)...... Gusan’s indifference (Cool as always!)......Taichi’s passive-ness (mute vocal! ^o^)...... Mabo’s zealousness (if you can do it, I CAN do it too! ^_^ )...... and Tomoya's serious-ness (if frowning is a sign of thinking, Tomoyababy looked really confused! ^o^) …..

Chaotic it may be, but hey…..there’s always the instruments if all else fail! (^_^)

Strike a Pose!!!

TOKIO graced us with another TV performance of their new single ‘Taiyou to Sabaku no Bara’ this past weekend. ‘Awesome’ is the only word of description for their ‘LIVE’….. Playing their music, doing their own thing….. this is the kind of TOKIO that I’ve always been in love with.

Leader with his new maroon-colored guitar, Gusan with his ever-sexy dual finger strumming of the ever-reliable bass, Taichi with his ‘Long time no see’ church organ, Mabo with his ‘cool as an iceberg’ stoic drumming demeanor, and Tomoya with his ‘THE Voice of TOKIO’ vocals…..

I had a little moment when I was listening to the now memorable tune as TOKIO played their hearts out in this performance. The feeling of that moment is of silence emotion that is made up of piercing sentiments….I guess this oxymoronic description is the best way to describe that particular moment of mine. It is a little indescribable, but unquestionably coming from the sense of belonging from a fan, that although maybe silent and not out-there, but is definitely bursting with pride!

The same may be said for TOKIO too, I guess. Silently playing their instruments and minding their own business…… but who is to say that the driving force behind that silence would be anything less than that of flaming passion?

TOKIO are not like their glittery kouhais anymore, and truthfully, I’m glad they are not. And although in recent interviews, they had been displaying their self-mocking talents of comparing themselves to their kouhais, I secretly wish that they would not do that anymore, because although it shows how gracious they are as sempais, it still pains me to see them depicting themselves as the adopted child of the jimusho.

I am a proud TOKIO fan whether people scramble or claw-fight for their concert ticket or not….. and TOKIO definitely shouldn’t sell themselves short… because for all you know, there are fans out there who are practically sitting on pins and needles while waiting to catch their ‘LIVE’. (^_~)

Guys, you are beautiful the way you are! And you need to know that..... (^_^)




Mabo's attire for that day was a hoodie sweatshirt and his ever-trusty shorts ...... again, like he was in his own little cozy  pad. (^_^) Looks like my theme for today- "You are beautiful the way you are', is sub-consciously directed to my dear Matsuoka-san's carefree attire too....(^o^)

But Mabo, if I may humbly say, "Summer's almost over.... so.....uhm...." (^_~)
Love this guy nonetheless!!! (^_^)

In the latest episode of 5LDK, TOKIO invited the actress, Kanno Miho, to their show. Kanno-san was born in the same year as Mabo and it looks like they all debuted around the same time too. Kanno-san was warmly welcomed with shouts of ‘Sashiburi’ from the guys when she appeared at their 5LDK (^_^), and it looks to be that the term ‘Sashiburi’ only applies to the lady and our younger 4 (^_^).

The reason being that, like always, our dear Leader is forever and a day always being miserably left out when it comes to past collaborations with guests…. Leader was the only one who has not had a chance to work with Kanno-san in a drama while the other 4 had, and of course that information alone was enough to make him succumb to Taichi’s merciless taunting … yet again. (-_-!) Leader, don’t give up, your day would eventually come ….and when it does, Taichi, beware!!! (^_~)

Kanno-san’s chat with the guys revolves mostly around her hobby which happens to be traveling, and as of today, Kanno-san has got 31 countries’ stamp of entry on her passport. Pretty impressive for a young lady, huh? (^_~) Kanno-san shared pictures of her traveling days, one of which was her doing a “Sun Salutation” yoga pose in front of the Ganges River! How COOL was that!!! (^_^)

Kanno-san went ahead and showed the guys some yoga basics and before she could even finish her sentence, one particularly flexible member was already on the floor mimicking her exact movement….that member is of course none other than our very own Matsuoka Masahiro! (^_^)To be totally honest, I’ve never doubted Mabo’s flexibility seeing that this is one guy who’d spent most of his younger years doing back flips and such (^_^), and I guess I’ve also never doubted Mabo’s arm strength when he effortlessly did the ‘arm lift’, seeing that I had always believed that if years of drumming did nothing to the boy, at least it gave him a pair of really strong arms! (^_^) ...... and it did!

Koimeshi returned this week and the guest indulged us with her simplified version of “Ochazuke” (tea rice). Besides sushi, Ochazuke is probably another one of my favorite Japanese cuisine (^_^)….simple and total comforting…like a bowl of chicken soup....yum-o! (^_^) This week’s Koimeshi’s winner is Taichi…… and the reason given by Kanno-san is that she ‘feels good’ in the presence of our keyboardist (^_^)…. And that compliment alone was enough to irk Gusan to no end…..hahaha (^o^)

Being a non-crossover fan, meaning that yours truly doesn’t know anything about any other Japanese group besides TOKIO, I’ve pretty much been living in my cozy little fangirl world where my source of Japanese comedic relief is provided by just them dudes! (^_^) Therefore, I’ve always wondered whether Japanese guys are especially humorous, or that these 5 are just naturally gifted in this department? (^_~)

In all fairness, I don’t think they are really trying very hard to be very funny…. It’s just that unforeseen circumstances always seem to make everything with them in it really funny! (^o^) As for what constitutes ‘Unforeseen circumstances’, it all depends on what they are being tasked to do…. And then always without fail….messed it all up terribly! (^_~) And yes, Leader always has a major part in the ‘Messing Up’ …. (^o^)

With that said, I am always extremely delighted when it’s time for them to come out of ‘seclusion’ and indulge us with their music and slapstick talent! (^_~) Just 2 weeks ago, TOKIO embarked on their 40th single promotion round, and did a short promo segment for ‘Ousama no Brunch’.

The segment started out with the routine Q & A where TOKIO diligently enlightened us with the story and inspiration behind their new song ‘Taiyou to Sabaku no Bara’. The fun part started when TOKIO was given a challenge to earn promo time for their new single…. And for that, they have to shoot down cardboard characters displaying the amount of promo time that they could earn… 1 second being the shortest, and 1 year being the longest. 5 attempts from the 5 of them….. Chances seem pretty high especially seeing that you’ve got 2 within the group with pretty long arms…Yes? ……

Well, yes and no….

Yes, being that the 2 long armed were the only 2 that managed to hit something, with Tomoya successfully hitting the ‘1 second’ board, and Mabo hitting the ‘Bull’s Eye -1 year’ board...... only to sadly see it shift pathetically but not totally toppled over. How scandalous was that!!! (o_o!)

As for ‘Nope’… 5 attempts doesn’t necessarily mean you would get good results…. the 5 of them only managed to accrue just a dismal 1 second of promo time! Like Tomoya miserably said, “It’s not even enough time to recite our song title!’ …. Aw…Poor Tomoya….

But freak-out one should not because this is the invincible TOKIO we are talking about, and we know that when they are given lemons, they all join hands to make lemonade! (^_~) And so they put their heads together and try to think of the best and quickest way to promote their new single….in that freaking ONE second.

Knuckles cracked…. Shoulders relaxed…. Deep breathes inhaled….TOKIO is getting all pumped up to make the shortest promo shout-out in Japanese TV history….. Ears tuned up as the 5 of them waited for that ‘One Second’ timer whistle to blow…..

The following happened so swiftly….if you snooze, you lose.... well remember...it's only one pathetic second:

‘Ousama’ lady TV host: “One second mark……READY AND…… hisssssss…..” (Whistle Malfunction?!?!)

TOKIO: (Opens their mouths but got abruptly deflated after hearing the malfunctioned whistle) ……..?!?!?! …..

Confused and perplexed looks overlapped one another as the 5 of them looked totally taken aback with what had just happened….

Leader exclaimed: NO!!!! You busted the ONLY second we’ve got!!! (T_T)

Everyone else: Our ONLY second!!! (And all hell broke loose)

As tears of laughter spewed out of my eyes….I can’t help but wonder in a little vicious way, “Dear God, why do you always mess with our guys like that? But because they are always messed up like that, I seem to love them EVEN MORE! (^o^) hahaha" ...... The truth is, it is always unforeseen situations like this that will always bring out the team spirit and comedic talent in them...... without fail (^o^)

And so the award of "The shortest promo time in Japanese TV history" goes to ......(drum rolls)…. TOKIO!!!

Well, of course it's them....it had to be them...... who else can manage to harass the audience to buy their album in 1 freaking second..... but TOKIO! (^o^)
